So what do we have left or right? What are these “ADD” and “NEW” buttons on the left and right of Unity Hub? The “ADD” button lets us add an already existing project in our local directory to the Unity Hub. Just next to that is a blue “NEW” button which lets you create a new Unity project, and the drop down arrow allow you to choose which version of Unity you want to start the project with. This depends on which versions of Unity you have already downloaded and installed on your local machine.

By selecting the “NEW” drop down you’ll be taken to some template options 2D, 3D, Universal Render Pipeline. For the purpose of getting started we aren’t going to touch on the more advanced render pipelines, but will focus on the normal 3D template. We then want to give our project a name as well as set the location where it will be saved on our local machine.

And there you have it, we’re ready to get up and running with Unity!
